Longing for that ONE other thing… and the other one too.

Okay, so I am doing it to myself again. I am drooling over video after video about the Canon EOS 7D. This is something I do whenever I find the time. Sometimes I even make time for it. At first it is wonderful and I get so excited about this camera, and all of the things I am going to do once I get it. I just can’t contain my excitement, and I have been known to bounce around in my computer chair during the YouTube video. I squirm, giggle, squeal, take notes, and all but cry happy tears. And then it happens… the realization that I don’t have this camera. Yet. I get anxious, scratchy, and my eyes begin to squint. I think I can cure these feelings though by watching even more amazing videos to make me feel better again. It doesn’t work. I just keep thinking, “If only, ohhhh if only I had that camera in my hands right now… ohhh the magic…”

This is my confession: I am addicted to wanting things. I am constantly gazing puppy-eyed at “that something else I don’t have yet, that I will have one day, or maybe never” and ending up with feelings of depression once I drop from the high.

It is because of this very confession that I have been trying my best to make a conscious effort to be content with what I have since I was about fourteen years old. Because of that, I am going to share some amazing photographs that I have taken with the camera I already have, and love that somehow take my breath away. Even still, I look at these images and I gasp a little. I think to myself, “Did I really capture this?” And okay, so maybe these photographs aren’t “all that special” or “amazing”, but I am still very proud of them. They are good to ME, and that is what counts for what I am doing right now. Remember, the goal is to be happy with what I have… not to stress about what I don’t have yet.

  • I keep reading fanfics to tide me over until #OUaT is back. I can't wait to see more character development of Regina! #EvilRegals 3 years ago
  • This has somehow been the best and worst Thanksgiving I've ever had, all at once. 3 years ago
