Pen Pals: handwritten letters still exist!

So right now I have two pen pals, and I am looking forward to getting more. There is something special about taking the time out of your day to create something for another person, and physically feel it with your hands. Even more amazing is the anticipation as you wait for the letters and check the mailbox each morning. Then the letter finally comes, and you hold it in your hands, anxious to unlock it’s secrets. You impatiently peel the seal back, and slip the contents out of the envelope. A smile flashes across your face when you see drawings, pictures, scrapbook pages, scrawling letters across a page, and personality from the person writing you bursting from the page.

I love handwritten letters, and typewriters. I love this. I’m so glad I deactivated my Facebook account, because in the process I ended up with two pen pals and it is so refreshing. πŸ™‚ I think I’m going to send out a care package soon to one of my pen pals. This should be fun!

Any suggestions for affordable and simple things that I could do?

Happy Adventures,

I’m not sure how well you know these people but I will gladly give you a jumping point off for ideas.
    Playdough is always good…always.
You do artwork…Make a puzzle out of one of your pieces and send one piece per month, march-dec. That will ensure you sending one letter per month plus give more excitement to each post you send.
Create a “dessert date” night…send a recipe for your favorite indulgence and set a day and time where you both make and indulge at your own places…a pen pal date
Create a scavenger hunt based on what you know about the person plus your own interests..Here is an example of a photo hunt I did for a friend in florence

Anyway, I could go on, but these might lead to your own ideas…or, if you need more, just let me know. Have Fun!

I’m Tweeting (Yikes!)

  • So, I started going by my middle name in college because I've always liked it better. Now I'm RenΓ©e, and can be tweeted at "teafaellana." 3 years ago
  • I keep reading fanfics to tide me over until #OUaT is back. I can't wait to see more character development of Regina! #EvilRegals 4 years ago
  • This has somehow been the best and worst Thanksgiving I've ever had, all at once. 4 years ago

Heather loves hats that are designed to look like cute animals, fairy wings, cheese pizza, swimming in ponds, roller blading, taking silly self-portraits, learning, spending time with people, and just about everything else too. Heather does not love ... well, there isn't a lot that she doesn't love. You can probably figure it out after a little while!
