3rd Sunburn’s a Charm, really…

Alright self,

sunburnt Barbie image found on Google

This is your THIRD sunburn this summer. One summer. Three sunburns. Something has to change. Now.

Re-apply sun block every time you get a drink of water. Do not stand around outside, swim, direct traffic, or read a book in the grass for longer than an hour and a half at a time. Worship your aloe plant while begging forgiveness from God for doing so. Re-apply sun block AGAIN.

Thank everyone who says you look adorable in those tiny little bun piggies you have sprouting from the sides of your head to keep your new short haircut off your neck.

Invest in a cute floppy hat. Wear jeans and deal with it. Find a shirt with long sleeves that is lightweight enough to wear in 85-95 degree weather. Don’t forget your sun block.

Wake up with enough time to take a bath in sun block.

Skin the tan girl who lives down the street and sew her skin onto yourself so you don’t burn.

Avoid getting arrested for skinning a girl.

Do not eat foods that encourage the sun to make-out with your skin, because honey, you are beyond sun-kissed.

Soothe your weeping self by soaking in aloe, eating a PB&J sammich, reading Chocolat by Joanne Harris, watching Chocolat the movie for the 100th (actually, 3rd) time, and talking your parents into buying ice cream.

Get a better sense of humor while you’re at it. Bye.

Happy Adventures,
Burkie

If I had been sunbathing and earned this punishment I may have fallen off a cliff as reward for my stupidity. I thankfully was volunteering at an outdoor event and only burned because I was not able to re-apply my sunblock. 😦 Ha! I feel less stupid, but it’s still not very fun to be burnt like a lobster.

Since I too was volunteering at said outdoor event… And since I did it for 3 days— I realized on day 2 reapplying sunblock is important. So is apply aloe and lotion after a sun burn is already there….
    Thanks for helping anyway…
