From a whirlwind of dust and clutter, a girl emerges.

Sunlight was dancing like a strobe while objects large and small flew through the air, occasionally blocking her light. Air was crisp, firm, ever-so-slightly daunting. He was accompanied by his little sister, Wind, who whispered mockeries and challenges in the ears of all she encountered. Moisture clung to everything, using his overbearing weight to hold back whoever he could. A storm was brewing, but it was a storm that no one ever worried about or prepared for. It was a storm that could sneak in on you and leave without you realizing it was there. Storm affects anyone and everyone, on every mountain and in every valley. Storm loses and gains power based on mindsets, goals, accidents, hardships– invisible forces of emotional nature, and physical events.

I acknowledge Storm and his cohorts. I appreciate them, but I try to keep my distance. Sometimes Storm and his pals will have a change of heart and help you out of their messes by using their very same effects to caress you and remind you that you are here. You are here, and you are enough. I walk through the storm. I do not pretend it isn’t there, like so many people do. Storm sometimes wraps his arms around me, trying to keep me with him but I keep my determination and he always lets me go eventually.

I will keep moving. I will emerge from any storms life brings my way. I will become stronger for it.

Happy Adventures,
Burkie

I’m Tweeting (Yikes!)

  • So, I started going by my middle name in college because I've always liked it better. Now I'm Renée, and can be tweeted at "teafaellana." 2 years ago
  • I keep reading fanfics to tide me over until #OUaT is back. I can't wait to see more character development of Regina! #EvilRegals 3 years ago
  • This has somehow been the best and worst Thanksgiving I've ever had, all at once. 3 years ago

The Blogger

Smile about what you are thankful for, and never forget you are a dreamer.

I AM

I am a girl on a mission, and the mission I am on is to be myself. I am an undiscovered treasure, and here I am giving you a key that will allow you a little further into the labyrinth of who I am.

Heather

Heather loves hats that are designed to look like cute animals, fairy wings, cheese pizza, swimming in ponds, roller blading, taking silly self-portraits, learning, spending time with people, and just about everything else too. Heather does not love ... well, there isn't a lot that she doesn't love. You can probably figure it out after a little while!
