Pressure, over time, turns plain things into diamonds…

I suppose that is why so many people I know, myself included, sparkle. Life is full of so many pressures. Good, bad, indifferent. Pressure always seems to be there. Even those times when we don’t have any pressure from anyone else, sometimes we put pressure on ourselves to enjoy what free time we may have. We think we have to do certain things that we don’t always have time to do, and there’s more pressure.

Pressure is something I am continuously learning to cope with. Opporunities that I pray for always seem to arrive at the busiest possible times in my life, and I feel pressure. Sometimes there are no opportunities at all, and I feel pressure. Sometimes the pressure really gets to me, and I start to break, until I am laying in a pile of broken pieces that I can’t seem to pick up myself. I need help when all the pressure sneaks into the wrong place in my mind and brings me down.

I constantly feel the pressure to be perfect. I feel the pressure of not wanting to be a burden.

If I can push forward and fight against the pressure by telling it that it won’t win, maybe, just maybe, I will become a diamond. I will be harder to break, stronger, but still so beautiful and translucent. Vulnerable, cherished, but oh-so-strong. That is my goal. My goal is to keep pressing on, with and without the pressure.

Pressure is a part of life. Pressure is hard to deal with, but it isn’t always a bad thing.

Happy Adventures,
Heather

I’m Tweeting (Yikes!)

  • So, I started going by my middle name in college because I've always liked it better. Now I'm Renée, and can be tweeted at "teafaellana." 3 years ago
  • I keep reading fanfics to tide me over until #OUaT is back. I can't wait to see more character development of Regina! #EvilRegals 3 years ago
  • This has somehow been the best and worst Thanksgiving I've ever had, all at once. 3 years ago

Heather loves hats that are designed to look like cute animals, fairy wings, cheese pizza, swimming in ponds, roller blading, taking silly self-portraits, learning, spending time with people, and just about everything else too. Heather does not love ... well, there isn't a lot that she doesn't love. You can probably figure it out after a little while!
